A Neutral Christmas Tablescape With Copper Accents

| |

Yay! It’s Christmas tablescape time! I do so love this time of year when we get to play with twinkly lights and sparkles and everything merry and bright. And, as always, I love setting a beautiful table. This year I decided on a neutral Christmas tablescape with copper accents and a green and platinum garland center piece.

The main inspiration for this table came from a cable knit table runner that I originally saw at HomeGoods and made the mistake of not buying. I searched high and low online and finally found a great one at JC PENNY!

I started imagining a yummy but elegant tablescape with my favorite copper accents and a long cedar garland. Then. when I went to Trader Joe’s and found that they had tons of fresh cedar garland in stock, I did a little happy dance!

While I love the look of fresh greenery on any tablescape, I really wanted this table to be bit more elegant. The solution was to mix some FAUX, CHAMPAGNE GARLAND into my fresh cedar. I found this at MICHAEL’S and it is definitely my new obsession this Christmas season.

I braided some small sprigs along the length of the table and added in some white tipped pinecones and glittered ornaments in soft copper tones.

The combination of green and champagne, atop the creamy, CABLE KNIT RUNNER was just the look I wanted to achieve.

The next step was to put together the place settings. I wanted to incorporate the creamy tones of the runner but still keep this tablescape warm and yummy, so I decided to layer several plates in different patterns and tones.

I started with a POLISHED SILVER CHARGER followed by my favorite Pottery Barn PLATES. Then I added a beautifully patterned TAUPE PLATE topped with my new SNOWFLAKE PLATES. I tucked a chocolate brown SATIN NAPKIN in to add a little warmth.

I used my new COPPER FLATWARE from WORLD MARKET, which got me all excited about adding some additional copper elements to the table. I decided the vintage copper mugs I found in a local antique store would work as water cups or for some warm spiced cider. And a CHAMPAGNE COUPE is the perfect special touch for a Christmas table.

The final touch to each place setting was a glittered, copper pear.

These were super easy to make and next week I will be sharing a tutorial on exactly how you can make them in just minutes!

I decided to incorporate a little extra sparkle with some MERCURY GLASS VOTIVE HOLDERS and my COPPER CANDLESTICKS with GRAY TAPER CANDLES.

I really love how this tablescape turned out, and the best part is the table garland was so simple to make and will last for weeks! No mess or fuss! Yay!

I think the mix of green, cream and copper is the perfect neutral combination for a soft and elegant Christmas table or any holiday event! What do you think!? Leave a comment below : )

    1. Hi Linda! The dining table is from Hooker Furniture-Willow Bend Collection, which I believe is now discontinued. I’m sorry I can’t be more help.

  1. I really love your tablescape, I would be very interested to know how you made those glittered pears? This would be a great addition to my table as well. Thank you!

    1. Thanks Sylvie! I used copper spray paint on artificial pears and once the paint dried, I used a spray adhesive and sprinkled “Glass” glitter on the top of the pears. Super simple!!
