Hi Friends! Today I am so excited to share with you the six interior designers that I get the most inspiration from on a regular basis. Some of these designers, I have been following for years and some are newer to me, but all of them offer incredible designs and an eye for detail that I envy! All of them have books, and I regularly look to them for inspiration and ideas. So here we go...prepare for some eye candy!!
BROOKE & STEVE GIANETTI - PATINA FARM
My architect first mentioned Brooke Gianetti and her husband Steve (also an architect) to me a couple of years ago. I began following her on Instagram and then started searching for more information about her incredible farm. I soon found that she has a a couple of books and a blog dedicated to interior design and decor and I am in LOVE with all of them. Her style infuses European charm and tradition with a farmhouse feel that is best described as yummy! I truly adore everything she does and am so excited to have the opportunity to visit her farm and shop this month! Yay!!
GIL SCHAFER - ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER
Gil Schafer's book THE GREAT AMERICAN HOUSE was the first interior design book I ever purchased. We were building our first house, in the days before Pinterest, so I spent hours pouring through magazines and books. Every image in his book evoked the style and feeling I was dreaming of for our home. I referred to it almost daily to find design details and reference for that beautiful traditional style mixed with rustic touches. HIs classic style continues to inspire me.

DIANE KEATON - THE HOUSE THAT PINTEREST BUILT
I honestly had no idea that Diane Keaton (yes the actress) had any interest in interior design or architecture until I saw her book, THE HOUSE THAT PINTERSET BUILT, in the lobby of a boutique hotel last fall. I took the book to our room and spent the weekend reading every detail of how she designed and built her home. I was fascinated by her design choices and the industrial farm style that she created. Every room is a study in contrasts and bold choices that challenge this traditional girl's ideas, and I love it!

COURTNEY ALLISON - FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE
I first saw Courtney, from French Country Cottage's designs and decor on Instagram. She was one of the first accounts that I followed and one of the first blogs I ever read. I was so drawn in by her incredibly beautiful photos of her home and the way she incorporated flowers and romance into every shot. I wanted to jump right into every photo! I then had the great pleasure of meeting Courtney at a blogger's conference last spring and ultimately working with her and her team at Romantic Homes Magazine on our home feature. (You can read more about that here) She is just as beautiful in person as her photos and home. The best news is, her first book was just released last month and it is full of gorgeous interior design and decor inspiration!
JAMES T. FARMER DESIGNS
James T. Farmer is a recent find for me, thanks to Pinterest. When I saw the deep, rich palettes and layers of textures and colors that he incorporates into his designs, it was love at first sight! I was so struck by the comfortable yet refined feeling in every room that I was an instant fan. I have just ordered his most recent book and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I am certain I won't be disappointed!

SHARON SANTONI - MY FRENCH COUNTRY HOME
Sharon Santoni is another designer that I discovered on Instagram and Pinterest. I would describe her as a model for how to live a beautiful life. She lives in France where she blogs about her life and adventures and also offers amazing tours in and around France. I am so inspired by her beautiful interior designs and decor as well as her romantic gardens. If you are drawn to French country style, this is the place for you!
So there you have it...the six designers that I am most inspired by. For me it is not simply about a design aesthetic, but a feeling that is evoked by each one of these talented designers. While they are all somewhat different, they also all incorporate a comfortable, rustic elegance in their designs which I exactly what I hope to achieve in our home!
